CHAPTER 265: THE THREAT.
Jenna got out of the car, her eyes never leaving Daniel. She knew she had to be careful, but she also knew she couldn't let him see any fear. As they walked into the café, the armed men took up positions outside, making sure no one disturbed them.
Inside, Daniel led Jenna to a secluded booth in the back. He sat down across from her, his eyes boring into hers. "You’re going to change what you wrote," he said, his voice low and threatening.
Jenna leaned forward, her eyes locked on his. "No, I’m not. And if anything happens to me, everyone will know it was you. Do you really want that kind of attention?"
Daniel's face darkened. "You’re pushing your luck, Jenna."
"And you’re pushing yours," she shot back. "You think you can control everyone around you with threats and violence. But you can’t control the truth."
Daniel slammed his fist on the table, causing the nearby patrons to glance over in alarm. "I will ruin you," he hissed.
