CHAPTER 238: FAKE LOVE, TRUE LOVE
Juliet looked at him, her heart torn. She saw the desperation in his eyes, the regret. Slowly, she reached down and helped him to his feet. “Get up, Daniel,” she said softly. “I hear you. But you need to understand, this can’t happen again. You can’t let your anger control you.”
Daniel nodded, his eyes filled with tears. “I promise. I’ll be better. I’ll do whatever it takes.”
Juliet sighed, her own tears starting to fall. “Alright. I’ll come back with you. But you have to promise me, you’ll stop your plan to ruin Caleb. We’ll find another way.”
Daniel hugged her tightly, relief washing over him. “I promise, Juliet. I promise.”
But deep down, despite his words, Daniel knew that his plan wasn’t over. He was still determined to ruin Caleb, to take back what he believed was rightfully his.
He would just have to be more careful, more cunning. For now, he had to keep Juliet close, to maintain the facade of change.
As they walked back to the house, Juliet leaned on him, her heart heavy
