Caleb sank into a nearby chair, the weight of the revelation bearing down on him. "I can't believe this... I wanted to see him, to talk to him..."

Fido nodded solemnly. "Of course, Caleb. We'll support you however we can."
"Thank you, Fido," Caleb said, gratitude lacing his words. "Thank you for telling me... even though it's hard to hear."
"We're family, Caleb," Fido replied, his loyalty unwavering. "We stick together through the good and the bad."
Caleb's thoughts turned to his grandfather, memories flooding his mind. "I'll never forget that. And I'll never forget my grandfather."
