Juliet nodded, her eyes dancing with amusement. "Indeed, Daniel. You do make a convincing argument for the virtues of gluttony." She paused, her expression growing mischievous. "But tell me, what would your esteemed grandfather say if he saw you now, stuffing your face like a pig at a trough?"
Daniel's eyes widened in mock horror. "Oh, the horror, Juliet! Grandfather would probably have me shipped off to the country to learn some manners!"
Juliet giggled, shaking her head. "Perhaps that's what you need, Daniel.
"Ah, yes," Daniel said, his tone sarcastic, "I can see it now. 'Dear Daniel, due to your recent gastronomic indiscretions, you are hereby sentenced to a life of hard labor on the family farm. May the cow patties and chicken feathers teach you some humility.'"
Juliet doubled over with laughter, tears streaming down her face. "Daniel, you're ridiculous! I can just imagine you covered in manure, begging the cows for mercy."
"Mercy, milady!"
