CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY THREE – THE LYCAN POWER

"Go!" Cassie shouted to her team, her voice hoarse with pain. They rushed through the opening, Cassie bringing up the rear. Her body was already healing, but she knew she'd pushed herself to the limit. The service tunnel was narrow and dark, forcing them to move in single file. They could hear the sounds of pursuit behind them, growing louder by the second. "Alex, where does this tunnel lead?" Cassie asked as they ran. "It should come out about a mile from the facility," Alex replied. "I've got transport standing by at the exit point." They pushed on, the tunnel seeming to stretch endlessly before them. Cassie's enhanced senses picked up the scent of fresh air, growing stronger as they neared the exit. Just as hope began to rise in Cassie's chest, disaster struck.
