VALERIA’S POV
“It’s good news—that means we’re ready now. Are you?” Elijah asked, leaning against the wooden table in our cabin. His sharp gaze bore into mine, measuring me for any sign of doubt.
I took a deep breath, my mind still reeling from the events of the past few days. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think I am ready now.” My voice carried more conviction than I expected, and it surprised even me. For the first time, I felt like I wasn’t the same broken girl who had been dragged through hell. “But how do I make sure they catch me?”
Elijah crossed his arms, his expression thoughtful. “I’ve been keeping an eye on their construction work. It seems like Magnar is in charge of overseeing the extension of their pack boundaries.”
The mention of his name sent a chill down my spine. I tensed, clenching my fists as memories of Magnar’s betrayal and cruelty clawed their way back to the surface. “So? Should I just barge in there?” I asked, forcing my voice to remain steady.
