Chapter 80: TYPICAL HUMANITY
Two guards stationed outside the king's chamber were momentarily taken aback when they saw their future queen, Xina, peeking out from behind the door. Her sleepy face and disheveled hair gave her a somewhat endearing yet vulnerable appearance. She had tried to smooth her hair, but it seemed to have a will of its own, stubbornly resisting her efforts.
"Are you looking for the king?" one of the guards with green eyes asked politely. He stood tall and imposing, like all the guards in the palace, but his tone softened in the presence of the future queen.
"Actually… no." Xina wasn’t searching for Gary at the moment. She had a more pressing concern. "May I know where the kitchen is?" she asked timidly, her voice barely above a whisper, which left both guards puzzled.
