Chapter 15 A CLUELESS GRANDFATHER
"Xina..." Ella looked sternly at her daughter for bringing up a sensitive subject. "You should be grateful."
Xina almost laughed out loud at that remark. Grateful? For what exactly was she supposed to express gratitude?
Was it for being sent to school? For being provided with food, a bed to sleep in, and a roof over her head? These were the basics that any parent should provide for their child. These were not privileges, but obligations. Xina had never asked to be born, and yet she was expected to be grateful for the mere basics?
Beyond those basics, her parents had done little else for her.
The memories that stood out the most to Xina were the ones where they left her alone for days while they went off to enjoy themselves at a resort, indulging in luxury while she stayed behind.
