As the meeting concluded, Karina gathered her notes, deliberately taking her time to avoid leaving at the same time as Miguel. However, her plan was foiled when Elena approached her. "Hey, want to grab lunch?" Elena asked. "We never got a chance to finish our conversation from last night." Karina hesitated, glancing at Miguel, who was engaged in conversation with Tom. "I don't know, Elena. I've got a lot of work to catch up on." Elena followed her gaze, understanding dawning in her eyes. "All the more reason to take a break. Come on, I won't take no for an answer." Reluctantly, Karina agreed, and they headed to the cafeteria. As they settled at a table with their meals, Elena wasted no time in broaching the subject.
