CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SIX – SHE WAS FRAMED
As he hurried through the corridors, he could hear the commotion growing louder. Rounding a corner, he saw a group of security guards surrounding Karina, who looked shell-shocked and confused.
"What's going on?" Karina demanded, her voice rising in panic. "I didn't leak anything! This is a mistake!"
Miguel pushed through the crowd, coming face to face with Karina. Their eyes met, a mixture of confusion, fear, and something deeper passing between them.
"Miguel," Karina breathed, relief flooding her features. "Please, you have to believe me. I didn't do this."
For a moment, Miguel hesitated. Their relationship had been tumultuous at best, filled with conflict and misunderstandings. But as he looked into her eyes, he saw the same determination and integrity that had first drawn him to her.
"I believe you," he said quietly, then turned to the security guards. "Stand down. I'll handle this personally."
