CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN – OBVIOUS TENSION
Later that evening, Miguel sat alone in his office, nursing a glass of scotch. He couldn't shake the image of Karina's face during their argument, the hurt in her eyes when he'd accused her of being unprofessional.
A knock on his door interrupted his brooding. "Come in," he called, expecting it to be his assistant.
To his surprise, it was Tom Reeves, Karina's former supervisor. "Miguel, do you have a moment?" Tom asked, his expression serious.
Miguel gestured for him to take a seat. "What's on your mind, Tom?"
Tom hesitated, then plunged ahead. "It's about Karina. I've noticed some... tension between the two of you lately. I'm concerned about how it might be affecting the team."
Miguel's eyes narrowed. "I appreciate your concern, Tom, but I assure you that any personal matters between Karina and myself will not impact the company."
