Chapter 161: Plotting his death
"Oh Martin," she whispered, approaching his bedside. "Is there anything you actually own? You did not own the company, now you did not own the house." She resisted the urge to slap him, knowing that the mark would be seen by a nurse. She paced around the room in frustration.
“What was the use of marrying you? What is the use of you living? Why can’t you just die?” she muttered.
A small, dark part of her wondered if it would be better to kill him now. But those feelings had been borne of one heated, fleeting moment of anger. She did not dare to actually do it. She was already suspected by the police for harming him, if she tried anything, she would be the first to be arrested. She did not feel bad for wanting to kill him. This was a desperate thought borne from her dissatisfaction towards his uselessness; surely no sane person could hold it against her.
