Chapter 109: A Fake
The man heard her words and reacted.
“No hospital,” the man spoke softly, but she could still hear him.
“You are bleeding!” she insisted.
“Where then?” the taxi driver asked.
“Just drive! Did you not hear the gunshots as you entered?” She asked, and he suddenly panicked and stepped on the gas.
“Gunshots? I was wearing my earpiece.”
The driver muttered under his breath in regret as the car pulled away. If he had known there was a shooting, he would not have come.
“Castle hospital,” she heard the man say and nodded.
“Castle hospital,” she instructed the driver. She tried hard to catch her breath while glancing at the man beside her. The city light slightly danced over the droplets of sweat on his face to make out a sharp jawline and short, wavy hair. His eyes fluttered open the next moment to meet hers, and she froze.
