Chapter 21: Residence

As soon as Duke parked the car in front of the mansion, a man in black suit came and opened the door for me. "Thank you" I beamed at the man. "You are welcome, mam" he said and shut the door the moment I alighted the car. Just then, a maid appeared and politely asked if I was Laura. "Yeah" I replied while looking around the house, it was really big. The Walters family must have spent fortune in erecting such a gigantic domicile. "Follow me please, mam" The maid pulled me out of my trance with her utterance and began heading towards the entrance of the mansion. "Okay" I said in acknowledgement and trailed her. When we arrived at the entrance a security guard stopped me. For a second I thought I did something wrong, but then he ran his hand held metal detector on my body while the maid waited patiently for me.
