Chapter 19 SAVIOR OF THE PACK

REYNOLD "Huh..., from All Stars?" Damn it! How the hell did he not know that she was close by? Wasn't she scared of being discovered by her sister? "Since when did you two become close?" "Well, that I can't tell you, but I can assure you that she's different now." What was Aria talking about? Could it be that she's thinking the woman in her company is Victoria?" Just then, Victoria walked in to say her greetings to Reynold. Getting closer, she caught sight of the magazine on the table. "Welcome Victoria, I know I promised not to tell on you but see, we are proud of you." Victoria took a quick glance at Reynold, who stared strangely at the both of them. She couldn't tell from his expression if he was suspicious or not. "You look gorgeous Victoria." Reynold managed to say in order not to make the atmosphere awkward. "Thank you, your Majesty, I'm sorry for not informing you about my new career." Victoria lied through her teeth, thinking Reynold did not recognise the face on the magazine. It's just her luck that Vega had made everyone see her in a different light, but she wouldn't become a shadow of Vega for long, since she would be getting rid of her anyway. Aria left with the thought that she had done a perfect job of bringing the couple closer. But as she walked back to her room, she thought about Victoria's nails. She remembered her nails had blue designs, but they're suddenly painted red now? Aria wondered while she went over to her room. She would find out about that tomorrow because she's been noticing some changes in Victoria lately, starting with the way she smelled. Sometimes when she left the company for home, she would find Victoria at home which was strange because she left her at the company. Moreover, she's never seen her leave the company before. "Something's definitely not right." Meanwhile, Reynold thought hard about what Vega was doing in All Stars. When he asked her to work for his company, she refused, he knew she had talent, and she was the kind of model he needed. Why did she refuse his offer and decide to work at All Star? He could pay her more and make her more famous if that's what she really wanted. He would buy All Star if he had to, so long as he got to bring Vega to his company. Reynold decided to pay a visit to All Stars. He put on his dark shade thereby making his face unseen, though he couldn't be recognised, he could notice the gasps and stares of the ladies when he walked into the company. Stanley had initially informed Graham of Reynold's visit, so when he came, Graham stood at the entrance of the company to welcome him. After he had settled into Graham's office, he pulled off his shades. Graham was extremely nervous and sweated profusely. He thought he was in trouble for having let his mate model in his company. "Mr. Graham, I believe you do not know why I'm here, so I will go straight to the point." "I'm interested in one of your models, and I would... " Graham didn't let Reynold finish before he blurted out. "I'm so sorry your Majesty, It was your Luna's decision to model for my company, and I could not refuse her." Reynold raised a brow at this very statement. Wow, turned out Graham had no idea his mate had a twin. Reynold could not help but take advantage of the situation at hand, this was like an opportunity brought to him on a platter of gold, how could he not be tempted? "So you are saying she asked you to let her work here?" "Precisely, your Majesty, it was all her idea." Graham was trembling as it was, and Reynold seemed to be enjoying what's happening. "Then I suggest you do the proper thing. You see, I'm not that much of a considerate Alpha." "Right away, Your Majesty." "No you don't need to go through all that stress, all I want you to do is transfer her to my company immediately, that way things will get easier for you". "I will do as you say, Your Majesty" Graham said with a shaky voice. Immediately, he brought out Vega's file and handed it over to Reynold. He glanced through the files, and was very impressed at her progress. "Have a nice day, Mr. Graham, but don't forget to keep our meeting a secret from her or anyone else. "My lips are forever sealed, Your Majesty." Reynold smirked, leaving Graham's office. He only asked Graham to keep the secret in order not to let his sister find out his plans. He knew how furious she might get, if she found out about him coming to the company. She might be his little sister, but she's very feisty, that sometimes it scared him to see her angry. Aria had got their mother's temper, he couldn't say otherwise for himself, seemed they both had their mother's temper. Their father wasn't that much of a quick-tempered Lycan, he was the considerate king, who always believed everything should be solved by coming together for peace. One of the reasons he was killed together with their mother. It was his luck that he wasn't as considerate as their father. VEGA She ran as fast as her legs could carry her, but as she got to the pack house, she found the whole pack in flames. No!...., she screamed at the top of her voice. This can't be, she was too late, the pack house had burned to the ground. She cried. Immediately, she remembered her father and quickly searched for him among those who were burned, but she couldn't find him. Who could have done this to the white snow pack, who was this merciless to destroy her home? Vega screamed even louder, only to wake up from a nightmare. She breathed heavily, and her heart raced badly. It was just a dream, she thought, but the dream seemed so real. Suddenly, she felt something on her eyes, and when she placed her hands on it, she was shocked to find out it was tears. Did she cry for real? "oh no." This wasn't to be taken lightly, this was her first time dreaming about something so dreadful that she cried into reality. "Jackie?" She mind linked her wolf immediately. Her wolf responded just as quickly. "The pack's in danger, we need to save them." Jackie said in panic. Vega became horrified at her dreams, how come she can see what's about to happen? "That's because of your powers, you need to be mated to make full use of me, Vega." Vega could not waste time dwelling on her mate right now. She had to set out for white snow pack as quickly as possible. She thought about how to get there and how she was to inform Mr. Graham that she would not be coming to the company. Vega informed her friend Sandy about her dreams and immediately Sandy drove down to her apartment, and together they set out for white snow pack. "Do you think you should inform your sister, Victoria?" "I doubt that's necessary Sandy, you know how she is, she won't believe me." Vega bit her lip in order to stop her lips from trembling. She earnestly prayed to the moon goddess that her dreams would not come to pass. Her father, she prays nothing happens to him, he might not love her, but she did love him, he was her only parent, she can't let anything happen to them. Just as they got to the town leading to white snow pack, they perceived the smell of werewolves. "Did you perceive that?" Sandy asked Vega who was already on high alert. "They are not normal wolves, nor do they smell like rogues." Vega quickly drove at full speed towards the pack, and to their utmost shock, these unknown wolves had held everyone captive in white snow pack. Vega saw her father kneeling in front of someone who seemed to be the leader. How was this possible? Her father was always on high alert, how come he's been caught so easily? Just as they were watching the sight presented to them, a large black wolf climbed in front of the car. This startled Vega and Sandy. The wolf growled loudly, and he tried to get them by hitting the windscreen of the car with full force. Vega and Sandy immediately bolted out of the car only to be surrounded by packs of werewolves. They snarled, and their fangs came out preparing for an attack. Vega knew this wasn't going to be an easy battle, but she wouldn't let her dream come to pass either. Immediately she shifted to her white wolf which also surprised everyone. Sandy, who was standing beside hers, was also taken aback at this. The wolves launched an attack on Vega, but she devoured as many as came her way. Sandy didn't even have to shift to her Wolf because Vega killed all of them in one swoop. Quickly, Vega ran towards the other wolves who held her father captive. The moment she appeared, they all became petrified. "A white wolf!" The pack members screamed in horror. Vega growled a guttural growl, and every one of the enemy wolves ran with their tails behind them. She continued growling until all the wolves who came to attack her pack ran away. Alpha Blake looked very surprised to see Vega, he knew only Vega had a white Wolf. The rest of the pack members were in awe at how large and beautiful Vega's wolf looked, but they had no idea who she really was. Vega didn't waste any more time and ran away from the pack. She had to leave, because she still couldn't face her father. Sandy, who saw her running back, was surprised to see her. She immediately shifted back to her human form while Sandy handed her some clothes to put on. Vega looked sad. She should be happy that she had saved her pack, but she wasn't because her father still looked at her strangely. Seeing him only made her feel guilty for her mother's death, and that alone scared her. They headed back home, while she continued to keep a sad face. "Still not ready to face him yet." Vega nodded in agreement. "Do you have an idea about the wolves who attacked your pack?" "I have no idea, I've never seen them before." She had never really thought about it before now. Those wolves weren't from their area. But who could be that bold enough to send those wolves to kill the Alpha? Whoever he might be, he was very dangerous, considering how big and ferocious those wolves looked. Sandy, on the other hand, was anxious to ask Vega numerous questions about her wolf. When Vega told her about her pack and family, she never made mention of her wolf. A white Wolf was legendary, Vega's wolf wasn't an ordinary wolf at all. Seeing how she took down the wolves who tried to attack them in one swoop baffled her a lot. Meanwhile, Vega could sense Sandy stealing glances at her from time to time. "I know you have a lot of questions for me, Sandy." Sandy couldn't help but chuckle at her friend. "How did you know I was going to ask you that?" "You don't have to ask, okay? I would explain everything to you when we get back home." Meanwhile, back at white snow pack, Alpha Blake was surprised to know that, in his time of need, it was his daughter Vega who came to save him. How he wished he could ask her why she left, even though he knew he had hurt her with the truth. He could not forgive himself for not keeping the promise he made to his late Luna. Would Vega ever forgive him for treating her with less love?
