Chapter 15 DISCOVERING THE OTHER MATE

VEGA Vega started working at the new company Sandy introduced her to. Things went on pretty fine with this new company, and just like she had made up her mind to aim higher, she decided to take on some training, and thanks to Sandy, she was getting better. Some months ago, she had been told that she would be transferred to "All Stars' modelling agency", where she would showcase her talent as a model. Vega was so happy to hear this news. Though it wasn't a famous one, she heard they were fast rising. She saw the picture magazine of the models in All Stars, and they were all gorgeous and properly trained. This was an opportunity that she could not afford to lose. Her old company treated her well though because Liam was good to her. Liam was her manager, and so far, he thought of her as a model. He's always encouraging her to be better because he sees talent in her. His mate Veronica was also a very nice woman, they both were in the entertainment industry, and they were doing pretty well. Finally, the day came when she and two other models were to leave for their new modelling agency. The problem was: These models thought she was trying to be better than them, but that wasn't her purpose at all. Vega discovered that in life, there was no such thing as being perfect or being good, regardless of what you did, some people would always say negative things about you. Vega had come to leave with that thought, and that only made her push higher, like she had promised herself, she wasn't going to become a pushover for anyone. Over a year now, Vega had been successful in becoming tougher, she no longer took the shit people threw at her and for some reason, it brought her some peace because unlike her former self, people no longer shouted at her. She had set a standard for herself that no one would break, and fortunately, it's working fine. Getting into All Stars was really a step higher because the atmosphere was different from that of her former agency. Here she was alone because she wasn't familiar with anyone yet and she didn't want to. Making friends had never been part of her life. The only person she called a real friend was Sandy, but unfortunately, she had left Sandy for a new apartment. Her friend was happy for her that she'd taken such a bold step, but she could tell that Sandy was sad and lonely too. For this reason, they hung out every weekend and talked about their various works and how happy or sad they were. On the first day, when she was about to take on some lectures about being a model, she saw a particular picture of a model that caught her attention. The model was indeed beautiful, but that wasn't the only thing that attracted her to the girl, she had some features that made her wolf feel comfortable. What was this feeling? She asked herself, it wasn't as though she was into her, so why was she feeling so comfortable with just the picture of the lady? "She looks beautiful, huh?" Came the voice of the CEO. She turned to meet him immediately. Mr. Graham seemed to be a nice guy who, from her observation, should not be older than 30 or thereabouts. "Huh?. Yeah, she really is beautiful." Vega replied, feeling very awkward. "I can tell you she's very famous around here—the best model the company has produced, to say the least." Vega made a silent "oh". That must be it then, she must have been captivated by the girl's beauty as a model, she corrected herself. "I say you will do better too, I can feel your talent already." Vega opened her eyes wide in surprise, those were the same lines her manager Liam always used for her. They must have the same talent and character too, she guessed. Just as she had thought, Mr. Graham directed her to the hall while they chatted freely with each other. Getting into the room, she could not believe the eyes that sent daggers her way. This was crazy, what could be the reason for this? She asked herself. If they thought she was going to be intimidated by their glares, then they should keep them coming for entertainment. "Alright ladies, let's begin." Suddenly, everyone got their eyes fixed on Mr. Graham. Vega could not help but notice the admiration they held for him in their eyes. Oh...now she understood why they stared at her that way. Wow, this was going to be one hell of a modelling show, she thought. It was the norm that every year, they recruited models who were to work for the company. If you are talented enough, you have a higher chance of going higher or even being signed to a higher brand. After lessons were over, Vega decided to go back home to prepare for the next day. Just as she was about to step out, Celia and Katy blocked her pathway. Vega raised her head to stare at these two ladies. "What's the problem?" She asked. "You are the problem." "Can you stop being a slut wherever you go?" Celia said getting very pissed. This made Vega chuckle, she wasn't intimidated at all. To her, they were still young girls who were hungry for fame just like the others. "Look, why don't you all spend more time brushing up your character because I don't think any company would want to see how dirty your behaviours are." Vega lambasted before storming away from them. The words she said must have affected them greatly because she heard them gasp in horror. Well, they would get even more harsh words from her if they kept trying to get on her nerves. She's a very patient woman, but she could also be very harsh if she wanted to be. Vega smiled as she walked out of the company. This feels great! Knowing she can defend herself from anyone now. Just as Vega walked out of the building, Aria sighted her getting into a car. What was 'Victoria' doing here? Aria asked herself. This was strange, Victoria wasn't someone who would go to a less popular company. She knew about her. It was very strange seeing her in All Stars, or could it be that she came in search of her? But that's also more weird because they hardly spoke to each other, even when they were in the house. Aria pushed back the many questions in her head and walked into the company building. *********************** Meanwhile, Sandy made an emergency visit to Vega's place, which made Vega very surprised to see her. "Hey lady, you must be so free today, considering you're coming to my place during work hours." Vega said in smiles. "Not really, I took permission before coming." Vega immediately sat down next to her friend. If Sandy could go as far as taking permission just to see her, then whatever the reason may be, it must be critical. "I've successfully gathered information about who your sister meets with every weekend." The news took Vega by surprise. "Are you serious?" "Haven't been more serious in my life.' Vega was still very shocked, she remembered how long it took for them to track Victoria down. When it came to being meticulous, she could say that Victoria was excellent. But not so good since Sandy had already found out something. "So who's this guy?" "Well, for now I don't have details about him because he seemed to have pooped up from nowhere." That was strange, if there was ever anyone who had no history, then it simply meant he had a lot to hide. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Vega asked, taking a quick glance at Sandy. "Yes I am, I think he's suspicious." Could it be that, the guy was her mate? This could be the only reason why Victoria would be so bold as to cheat on the Lycan king. Just what was she thinking? The knowledge of Victoria cheating on Reynold made her blood boil. Here she thought she was doing her favour by not telling on her, but how dare she cheat on him after all the sacrifices she had made for her and their father? Could it be that her father knew about this too? Vega's head had become pretty messed up. It was clear that Victoria was playing with fire, and she would surely get burned in due time. "I think I need to meet her." "Meet who?" Sandy asked confused. "My sister." "Are you kidding me, Vega, after everything she did to you?" Yes, it was true that Victoria had done things irredeemable to her, but then she couldn't just let her burn in the fire she had set up for herself unknowingly. That would make her a heartless sister, what was she even thinking? Everyone around her had already tagged her as the violent one. But then again, she couldn't just let things be, Victoria surely wouldn't be the only one getting hurt, but her father and the pack as well. Sand left Vega's place, not truly happy at the decision Vega was about to take. It was certain that things might get even worse and Vega might be the one getting hurt by the end of the day. Though she had promised to be of help to Vega in whatever decision she was to take, at least that's what friends do anyway. Meanwhile, Ivan had gathered information about Vega, and the next plan on his list was to find out where she worked and lived. He was sure things would go pretty well as he had planned. Even the goddess was on his side at this point, in time to come no one would be able to step over him again, not Lycan Reynold or his pack, they would all see him in a new light. Ivan was from Red Moon Pack, a pack that had never regained its fame after it was destroyed by the late Lycan king. His father, Talbot, the Alpha of the Red Moon Pack, sought revenge on the Lycan Alpha, but too bad he got the wrong information about the Alpha leaving his castle with his whole family. The plan had been to exterminate the entire Lycan Royals, who would have thought that the Lycan king would be so smart as to send his children somewhere else? They had looked for means to attack, but they all knew how powerful the lycans were; it would be suicide to attack them in their base. For this reason, they waited outside for the Lycan king to get out so they could attack him, but that still didn't go as planned. They had tried to look for means to get the younger sister of the Lycan King, but he was as smart as his father, as he never let his sister out of his sight or without security. It was due to this that Ivan, who is the new Alpha, decided to come out disguised. He knew the only way to get things done was to live in the midst of the enemy. At first, when he heard the Lycan king had found himself a mate, he was delighted because he thought he would finally be able to get the Lycan king by capturing her. But then again, it was hard because she was strongly guarded. Ivan had already lost hope about getting to the Lycan king, but when he heard about the reckless lifestyle of the Luna, he decided to take advantage by kidnapping her. Who would have thought that the Luna was his fated mate? At first, he thought the moon goddess was ruthless to him, but then she told him that she wasn't the real mate to the king but her twin sister. Once again his hope came alive, and ever since then, he had decided to use his mate as leverage to get to the Lycan king.
