Chapter 10
Tang Ruochu moved out of her house the day after she had the argument with Tang Song.
Lu Shijin sent Mu Ling to pick her up and Tang Ruochu couldn't help turning back to give the house one last glance as they left, and her heart felt heavy.
This had been her home for more than 20 years, so she still felt reluctant to part from it.
However, she didn't wallow in her sorrows for long.
There was nothing left tying her to her home.
Lu Shijin's mansion was in an area known as Royal Dragon View, located in the flourishing southern part of the city. However, it was in a quiet district away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The area within the gated community was beautiful with high-end facilities. It was also very well-guarded and discreet, so the prices were incredibly high. One might not be able to purchase a mansion in this gated community even if one had the money. Those who lived in this area were mostly rich and influential.
Lu Shijin was present when Mu Ling dropped Tang Ruochu at his home.
He was clad in a striped navy suit. The exquisite workmanship and simple patterns and a beautiful necktie came together beautifully to make him seem noble and elegant. His dark eyes were narrow, long, and deep-set, and the coolness in his eyes made him seem very unapproachable.
Tang Ruochu suddenly realized that this man was truly an extremely attractive man whose charm was constantly oozing out of him.
"Is that all you have?" Lu Shijin said as he walked up to her and pointed at the three bags behind her.
...
Tang Ruochu was pulled out of her reverie. She smiled and asked, "Why, is that too little?"
"My house is very big, so your belongings seem a little meager. Then again, this isn't a problem since you could buy whatever you're lacking in the future," Lu Shijin said.
He asked the maids who were employed at his home to carry her belongings upstairs. Then, his brows creased into a frown as he studied her. "Why do you look so terrible? Did you not sleep well?"
Tang Ruochu froze in surprise before she nodded and said, "I didn't sleep well."
She was so bitterly disappointed with her family, so how could she sleep well?
Lu Shijin shot her a meaningful look and he seemed to know what she had been through. He stretched out his hand and stroked her cheeks before he said, "No one will take advantage of you in the future now that you're with me."
His palm was very big and it exuded a comforting warmth.
Tang Ruochu smiled brightly and said, "I trust you."
"Shall we head upstairs?" Lu Shijin suddenly suggested.
He retracted his hand and there was an enigmatic look in his eyes.
Tang Ruochu nodded and said, "Sure."
They headed upstairs. The room was very spacious and it was tastefully decorated. The decor was luxurious while managing to seem understated, and it was very much like Lu Shijin's style.
Tang Ruochu looked around the room and noticed that there were several new additions to the decor in the room. There were several feminine pieces of furniture in addition to the masculine furniture and half the closet space had been cleared out. He had clearly prepared all of this for her.
"Are you satisfied with this?" Lu Shijin asked as Tang Ruochu explored the room. He went over to the wine cooler, poured two glasses of red wine, and handed a glass to her.
...
Tang Ruochu took the glass of wine from him and she blushed furiously as she asked, "Is this... the room I'm supposed to share with you?"
"Naturally so, since we're already married!" Lu Shijin said nonchalantly as he took a sip of wine.
...
Tang Ruochu turned redder and she couldn't help glancing at the big bed.
It was a standard double bed and the blankets were clearly new. The bed was beautifully decorated and there were rose petals scattered over the bed. The rose petals were arranged to form the words "have a blessed marriage". It didn't seem like a cliché idea and added to the romantic atmosphere that hung in the air.
Tang Ruochu had assumed that Lu Shijin had arranged for her to have a room of her own, but clearly, this wasn't what he had intended. She could tell that she would have to share a bed with him in the future.
She felt very shy and embarrassed and the blush on her cheeks intensified. Her fair and slender neck was dyed with a faint pink blush as well.
Lu Shijin looked at her with a slight smile when he saw how embarrassed she seemed. He tucked a hand under her chin and said, "Mrs., I promised not to touch you but you're testing my patience with the way you look right now."
His voice was very soft and low. It sounded like a melodious cello.
She felt his warm breath and smelled the refreshing scent of cologne on him. She sensed his masculine aura, which was full of seductive charm.
Her heart skipped a beat and she suddenly felt a little nervous.
She was no fool so she naturally understood where this was heading.
She couldn't help gulping nervously and tensing up, not knowing how to react.
A flash of mirth crossed Lu Shijin's eyes when he caught her nervous reaction. Then to her surprise, he let go of her and said, "There's no need to worry. I won't touch you since I promised not to, and I meant what I said earlier."
She breathed a secret sigh of relief at his words and was grateful for his gentlemanly gesture.
They were now a married couple but it seemed as though Lu Shijin was the one who was constantly putting more effort in their marriage, such as preparing a romantic dinner on their wedding night, decorating their room, and even heading to her company to help her out after they had just collected their marriage license...
She had been the one to bring up marriage but she hadn't done anything for him while he was constantly giving in to her.
Why was that so?
Tang Ruochu clenched her jaw and she seemed to come to a decision before her hands suddenly shot out and grabbed the corners of his shirt.
"Hmm?" Lu Shijin looked at her in surprise.
...
Tang Ruochu looked down at the floor and said shyly, "Actually, if you really want to, I... don't have any objections as well. We... we're a married couple, so since it... will happen sooner or later, I will be okay... with some... interactions..."
