CHAPTER 44 CENTER OF THE CROWD
Marai had reached the peak of annoyance now. Suddenly, she exploded, swiftly throwing all three of them out of the house.
Jordan and the others hadn't even reacted yet, dumbfoundedly watching as the door closed coldly and resolutely in their faces. Jordan even heard the sound of Marai locking the door behind them.
A few seconds later, loud knocking erupted on the door, mixed with a woman's angry curses.
Marai pretended not to hear, ignoring the knocking and went straight to take a shower. By the time she finished her relaxing bath, the others were also almost ready. Marai opened the door, but the three had already left, and she had no idea where they went.
Drying her hair lazily, Marai descended the stairs, wearing clean cotton pajamas she found in the wardrobe. The loose style softened Marai's appearance, and her usual sharpness was nowhere to be seen.
