Nancy and Linda screamed in shock. "Ah..." Linda, particularly startled, sprang up as if she had springs in her seat. She tossed the ropes aside and ran to the old man's side. "Hey! What's wrong with you?" she asked anxiously. Seeing no response from the old man, Linda squatted down and gently shook him. "Wake up! Don't scare me. What are you trying to do..." But no matter how much she shook him, the old man remained motionless, eyes tightly shut. "I... I..." Linda's eyes reddened with fear, and she burst into tears. She looked at Nancy in a panic. "Nan... Nan... he's not dead because of me, is he?" She truly didn't expect the old man to react so badly to a bit of anger, just collapsing on the spot. It was terrifying. Nancy had already walked over. She waved at Linda to move aside. "Linda, step back a bit and give some space..." Linda, utterly bewildered and compliant, stood aside. Nancy squatted down and checked the old man's breath. After confirming a faint breath, she opene
