Chapter 16
The moonlight was as beautiful as always, bringing solace to Aurora who was lost in thought.
She wondered if, after all these years, any trace of her companionship had truly left a mark on those three men. Taylor's uncharacteristic behavior certainly hinted at a shift in him.
The next morning, Aurora sat quietly on the balcony, dressed in a casual outfit.
Unexpectedly, Taylor emerged in a white button-up shirt. He carried a glass of warm milk and some pastries, setting them on the table with a small smile. "Here, breakfast."
Aurora caught his rare smile but remained calm as she responded, "Why don't you join me?"
He didn't seem at all fazed by her calm tone, nor did he look disappointed. He kept that faint smile, which felt chillingly insincere to her. She sensed there was a lot hidden behind it.
Taylor picked up a piece of cake and held it to her lips. Aurora accepted the offering and bit off a small piece. His attention didn't surprise her because she knew he'd always been gent
