Chapter 67
JUNE
After the call I had with Mark, who sounded so odd over the phone, I returned to what I was doing earlier. I thought he would be happy for me when I told him of my progress, but he sounded rather peculiar. I can't tell why, but I felt like he was not happy.
His tone strongly suggested that, making me believe that he was in a bad mood. Perhaps, I caught him at the least unpleasant time.
Humming under my breath, I went to the kitchen to get some snacks. I only saw three cookies in the jar, and the last of the orange juice Kristen bought a week ago.
With my snacks in hand, I strode into the sitting room, munching on the cookies as I walked. I placed the juice on the table, took my phone out and sent a text to Kristen to remind him to go grocery shopping.
Otherwise, we will have to live on sandwiches until he decides to do that. I went grocery shopping alone once, and I don't intend to do that any time soon.
