Luther had reviewed Grace's past medical reports and knew about her severe depression. He understood that this condition could lead to memory decline, but he wasn't convinced it would cause someone to completely forget another person—especially after knowing each other for over a decade!
Seeing him remain silent, Grace looked at him and asked, "Could you be someone who has hurt me? Otherwise, why would I forget you?"
Her words felt like a stab to him.
He parted his lips slightly, and his voice turned cold. "Ms. Mitchell, you're overthinking. We're merely strangers who crossed paths."
He decided to let her continue pretending if she wanted to. After all, he had never considered them a couple in the first place.
