Matthew walked toward Charles, ready to fight for Grace.

However, a powerful force struck when he reached out his hand. Charles directly kicked him to the ground.

Matthew fell a good ten feet away with a bang. He clutched his chest in pain, unable to speak.

Seeing this, Carolyn hurried over to help her son up and glared fiercely at Charles. "How dare you kick my son!"

Charles picked Grace up, his big and round eyes filled with coldness. The raindrops trickled down the tips of his hair, falling slowly.

He approached the mother and son, looking like a completely different person. He was like a demon as he uttered each word slowly, "Do you want to die?"

Carolyn and Matthew were both terrified by the man before them and didn't dare utter a word.

Charles didn't forget to remind Carolyn as he walked away with Grace in his arms, "Grace's will mentioned that she left a recording.

Elijah kept calling Grace a deaf woman.

Luther listened as his gaze darkened. Yet, he didn't say anything about it.

It was probably his indulgence that led Elijah, Elsa, Jamie, and the maids at the Larsen residence to think that they didn't have to treat Grace like a fellow human. 

Suddenly, Elijah received a phone call and left in a hurry.

After he left, Luther also subconsciously picked up his phone. Nevertheless, he didn't receive any missed calls from Grace.

The cold and automated female voice answered once again when Luther dialed her number.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later…"

He was annoyed and tossed the phone aside.

Luther stood up, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and lit a cigarette.

Grace's words from early that morning still lingered in his ears. She said she regretted it…

A bitter taste filled Luther's throat

The other will was for Teresa. When Charles opened it up, he noticed the address on the last line left for Teresa.

The next second, he rushed out. 

This place wasn't far from West Taseville, and it took around 20 minutes to arrive by car. But Charles felt that the journey seemed excruciatingly long.

He couldn't understand why someone who once appeared so brightly and stunningly in his life would choose to walk on this path in the end.

Meanwhile, Carolyn headed to West Taseville as well. But she was there to take Grace back for the wedding so that they could secure their 300 million dollars.

At West Taseville Cemetery, the heavy rain poured down harshly. 

Grace had fainted by the tombstone, and the rain battered down on her mercilessly. Her dress had gotten drenched very early on, and her entire figure was gaunt and frail.

She looked as if she was a wisp of driftwood that might vanish from the world in an instant.

Charles braved through the rain and ran toward Grace. "Grace!"

There was only the sound of the wind and the rain taking; Grace didn't reply to Charles.

He went to carry Grace and noticed the empty bottle of medicine by her side. Charles' hands trembled for a moment, and he carried Grace immediately.

"How could you be so light? Wake up, Grace! Don't fall asleep!" Charles said while he ran down the mountain.

Carolyn looked out the window and saw a stranger carrying Grace in his embrace.

"You're really something, aren't you, Gracee?" Carolyn frowned and used an umbrella to shield herself from the rain.

Carolyn was wearing a bright red dress today. The rain had soaked the hem of her dress. She charged toward Grace in annoyance to begin questioning her.

But before she could get anything out of her mouth, she noticed that Grace was leaning into Charles' embrace limply. Her face was ghastly white, and her eyes were closed as she stayed still.

"Grace…" Carolyn was about to ask what had happened when her eyes landed on the bottle of medicine, which had the words "Sleeping Pills" printed on the label.

At this moment, Carolyn thought of the words Grace had said a few days ago.

"If I give up on my life, will you let go of your hold on me and stop being my mother?"

The umbrella in Carolyn's hand fell to the ground, and she tightly gripped the bottle of medicine. 

She didn't dare look at Grace. She didn't know if she was really crying or if it was the raindrops that were streaming down her face.

"You bastard! How could you do this? I was the one who gave birth to you!" Carolyn's red-tinted lips were trembling.

Matthew was waiting in the car, and he couldn't make out what was happening when he saw Carolyn standing under the rain at the cemetery.

Then, Carolyn began roaring, "Why couldn't you have waited until you got married before you died? Why?"

It was the last straw for Charles. He couldn't bear to hear anymore and stared at both Carolyn and Matthew with reddened eyes. "Fuck off! Don't make me repeat myself!"

It was then that Carolyn and Matthew noticed the strong demeanor Charles exuded. He didn't lose out to Luther.

"Who are you?" Matthew walked toward him. "She's my sister, so what right you do have to ask us to fuck off?"

After he finished speaking, Matthew said to Carolyn, "Mom, Mr. Lloyd is rushing us. We're doomed if we don't bring her back."

When Carolyn heard what he said, she slowly regained her composure and ruthlessly said, "Bring her to the car. She's got to attend the wedding even if she's dead!"
