In the afternoon, Hazel did not go to the colleague gathering, but took a leave and rushed to the address Alana had provided.
The address brought her to an old-fashioned building that had a badly damaged cement floor in front of the door due to water leaks.
Hazel entered the stairs of the building. Although it was daytime, because of the location, there was no sunlight, and the stairs were dim. Even with the lighting on the stairs, it was still dim. The stairwell was full of debris, and it seemed that no one had cleaned it in a long time.
The room Hazel wanted to rent was on the first floor. It was at the door where she met the fat landlady.
