"It's beautiful," Sierra whispered. "Sometimes, I wonder what life would be like without all the politics and backstabbing."
Aaron glanced at her. "Would you give up your revenge?"
Sierra paused but ultimately answered, "No. Some things I can't just let go."
"I understand." Aaron looked into the horizon. "Sometimes, anger is the only thing that keeps a person going."
Sierra turned to him. "Is that how you feel about the Butterfields?"
Aaron chuckled and shook his head."It's not hate; it's more like a disappointment. Seven years of love ended up in betrayal."
"Do you still love her?" Sierra asked before she could stop herself. She froze right after she asked the question.
Aaron stared out over the water and thought for a long moment. "Not anymore. When someone breaks your heart that badly, there's no going back."
As they stood in silence, Sierra took a deep breath. "Aaron, there's something I need to tell you."
