From that moment on, Melanie wouldn't just work hard for herself. Instead, she would also do it for Edward's sake.
"How do you think the principal will resolve this? Do you think he'll expel the kid?" she asked.
Edward didn't think so. "Regardless of his decision, I'll deal with it another way if he doesn't meet our expectations."
When she heard that, she thought he sounded arrogant but charming at the same time.
"Thank goodness you came today. Otherwise, those two would've swallowed me alive. It didn't seem like they were going to stop at the bullying."
Edward coldly chuckled. "That's what happens when someone's used to doing evil things. They get a kick out of bullying others. But you don't have to worry about it. As long as I'm around, no one can bully Nellie."
Melanie nodded silently and stopped talking.
When they reached home, the house was still empty because everyone was still at work.
The two of them talked to Nellie for a while, worried that she might be traumatized.
