Edward was usually quiet, but their nighttime conversations had become a routine in their arranged marriage. Noticing his unusual silence after making the bed, Melanie could not help but ask, "What's wrong? Is something bothering you?" After some consideration, Edward decided to be honest about the situation, knowing it would hurt more if she learned about it later. He carefully explained the entire situation regarding the diplomatic visit. Melanie was not naive and quickly understood the implications. She appreciated his honesty, knowing many men would have felt too embarrassed to admit their concerns about having a wife who might humiliate them at such an important event. His straightforwardness earned her respect. "When exactly is this event? How much time do we have?" Melanie asked. Edward looked surprised. "About two weeks from now." Melanie was not an attention-seeker but wanted to help Edward, especially after all he had done for her since she arrived in the city. Plus, sh
