Chapter 97
"Your obsession isn't worth it," David said.
He had expected Shane to back down after hearing those words. But his son just let out a dry laugh as if he had told him a ridiculous joke.
"She doesn't love me?" Shane spoke slowly, and his eyes held the weight of an impending storm. "And how would you know that? I understand her better than anyone—better than even she understands herself."
"You!" David struck the desk with a heavy slap. He was furious at Shane's stubbornness, but his son didn't care.
"Dad, I suggest you stay out of this because I'm bringing her back," Shane said firmly before leaving the office. He immediately mobilized his men to the island where Nina had fled.
Nina had no idea that even David couldn't cover her tracks.
After a night of rest, she felt better. Her face was still pale, but at least she no longer looked as ghastly as she had the night before.
