"Thanks, Shane."
It seemed to have worked. Wendy stopped crying.
An exasperated smile appeared on Nina's face. There was only desolation left in her heart.
For Wendy, Shane was the most dependable brother in the entire world.
Nina had once thought this way, too. That was until three years ago, when Shane completely tore off the mask he had been wearing in front of others.
Even when Wendy was returning to her room, Abigail was still worried and followed her back.
Nina watched Abigail as she left. Not only did she not comfort Nina, but she did not even glance at her.
Nina watched for a few seconds more before withdrawing her gaze and laughing at herself for being naive.
