CHAPTER 14: HE MIGHT BE TOXIC

Cecilia was sitting in the living room the next day. She was sipping coffee in one hand, and in the other, she held a magazine about her and the Anderson company. She flipped through the pages, but her concentration was on Sarah as she paced around the room on a call with her boyfriend. "I just don't get it, Harry," Sarah said, her voice strained. "I can't just leave Cecilia like this. She needs me right now." Harry's voice was low, but Cecilia could hear its frustration. "Sarah, you've been gone for a week. I understand you're helping your friend, but we also have our life in California. I need you here." Sarah sighed heavily. "I know, but Cecilia is going through a lot. Her whole world is falling apart. I can't just abandon her." Harry's response was sharp. "And what about us, Sarah? We had plans, remember? I don't want to keep arguing, but this is becoming a bigger issue." Cecilia's brow furrowed as she listened. She turned slightly to glance at Sarah, who looked increasingly u
