CHAPTER 127: BURNT IN HER MEMORY
"Where are you, Cecilia?" Sarah murmured, standing on the porch with her head resting on the railing. She had been trying to reach Cecilia for a long time, but her calls went unanswered.
Wild thoughts ran through Sarah's head until a car pulled into the driveway. Relief washed over her when she saw Cecilia's familiar car.
As Cecilia stepped out, Sarah stormed over with a glare.
Cecilia gulped nervously, knowing she had no explanation for ignoring Sarah's calls and messages.
She dropped to her knees, hands clasped together in a pleading gesture.
Sarah burst into laughter at the sight.
"Does that mean I'm forgiven?" Cecilia asked, standing up with a hopeful look.
"I didn't say so," Sarah replied, still aloof.
Cecilia took her words as a 'yes' and hugged Sarah dramatically.
"You just know how to get to me," Sarah grumbled.
"More reasons we're best friends," Cecilia sang.
As they entered the house, Sarah asked, "How are you? Where did you go?"
"I'm fine, better than yesterday.
