Abigail's eyes sparkled. It seemed as if she were overawed by Eleanor's imposing demeanor at this moment. But she quickly regained her composure—realizing that this "peasant girl" was just bluffing. As the cherished daughter of the Hampton family, why should she be afraid of this peasant girl?
"I don't understand what you mean," Abigail replied, a smug smile tugging at the corner of her lips. She decided to feign ignorance to the end. After all, stealing someone's parcel was blatantly shameful if word got out. So, Abigail was prepared to deny everything.
Eleanor seemed to have anticipated that Abigail would respond this way. She stared at Abigail, a smirk on her face, her eyes gleaming with an icy chill. "Don't you remember what you did?"
Abigail kept up her innocent act. She scoffed, "What should I remember?"
A laugh escaped Eleanor. "Alright, then let me help you remember."
As her words trailed off, she retrieved the broken parcel from behind her and casually threw it towards Abigail
