Ian's cigarette had nearly burned out, and as he flicked the ash, the burning tip fell onto his hand and scalded his fingers.
He dropped the cigarette to the ground, and the report in his hand slipped to the floor in a panic.
When the window opened, a breeze blew the pages of the report forward.
I caught a glimpse of the title on the first page as I stood by the door. My heart which had been on edge finally felt dead inside.
