Two hours later, Liam arrived hurriedly with the ambulance. He carried Grandma onto the ambulance and got off only after watching the nurse hook her up to an IV.
"You're pretty impressive. You even know how to start a fire. I was worried you and your grandmother would turn into popsicles in this cold weather, but when I held her, she was very warm.
"Eve, well done!" Liam said, wrapping a down jacket around me. He even gave me a thumbs-up as if he were praising a child.
I looked at him, and I'd never thought that he'd help me so much in so many ways in my second life. I held back the lump in my throat and smiled at him. "Thanks, Liam."
