"Evelyn, must you push me away?" Ethan's mood dropped. Even his voice had turned as cold as ice.
I pressed my lips together and said nothing. I was terrified of what he would say next.
I wanted him to stop talking, but before I could say anything, he continued, "You obviously like me back. Why won't you admit it? You were so concerned and afraid when I got stabbed. I heard everything you said to me."
