CHAPTER 11
The rattle of the prison doors unsettled her nerves. She stepped inside adjusting her hair behind her neck. The bottom of her heels clicked against the concrete floor. Kasper sat at the extreme end of the half occupied visitation room, his face drawn and tired. His once neatly arranged dark brown locks scattered about his face.
“You look terrible.” She blurted out besides herself while taking a seat opposite him.
“Happy to see you too. I'm still getting used to the room service here.”
“Sorry.” She muttered.
“You shouldn't be here.” He muttered.
“I had to come.” She lowered her voice leaning forward a bit. “I got something that could break you out.”
His tired eyes sharpened meeting hers. “What?”
“A recording. A confession, actually.” She whispered. “I got Lucy to confess everything. From the stolen funds to the false accounts and accusations. All of it.”
“How…?”
“It wasn't easy. Damien thought he got rid of it. But…”—a small smile formed on her lips— “I was way ahead of him
