I snorted coldly. "You didn't believe me back then and don't want to fulfill your promise now. Do you have a problem keeping your word or something?"
Elsa didn't say anything but deliberately wiped her eyes. Jack immediately sprang to her defense.
"If you have a problem, take it up with me. Why do you have to insult Elsa? She's only trying to help you, and instead of being grateful, you're scolding your own sister. Jane, don't you feel bad at all?"
I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, giving Jack a pointed look. "Yeah, I guess you don't feel bad at all either, or how else could you insult your biological sister for the sake of a non-blood-related one?"
Seeing the tension between us, Dad quickly stepped in to mediate. "Alright, enough, you three. Stop arguing."
He then shot Jack a disapproving glance. "This is your fault. Even if you didn't believe in Jane, why did you try to suppress her? Apologize to her now!"
With Dad stepping in, Jack, though still displeased, had no choice
