Chapter 20 Second Attempt at a Reconciliation
Smiling, I nodded and finished the entire glass.
Elsa saw me drink the last drop of juice and sighed in relief. Then, she picked up the glass before her and began sipping it slowly as she chattered.
As I watched her drink the juice to the last drop, I could barely hide the smile in my eyes.
I patiently made small talk with her for a while before the doorbell rang. Elsa eagerly got up. "I'll get it."
I was surprised by the person who entered when the door opened. Jeremiah walked in holding a bouquet of baby's breath.
He was stunned to see Elsa and subtly signaled to her with his eyes.
Elsa knew why he was here. Despite her dissatisfaction, she held it back and forced a strained smile. "You're here, Jeremiah. I was trying to convince Jane not to get a divorce."
Jeremiah reached out and dotingly ruffled her hair. "You're always this kind."
