Chapter 901
Mayra felt like a lifeless puppet. The initial pricking pain in her chest now transformed into a dull, throbbing ache. It felt as if something had shattered inside her.
She could only weakly groan, unable to even scream in her agony. Eventually, the numbness overtook her, leaving her without the strength to think or control herself.
Her mind was blank as she sat on the bus, unaware of how long she had been riding.
When the bus came to a complete stop, the driver got out and was shocked to see someone still in the back seat. "Young lady, why haven't you gotten out yet? My shift is over."
Mayra snapped out of her daze. "I'm sorry. I'll leave now."
After getting out of the car, Mayra realized she had arrived at an unfamiliar location.
Surrounded by green mountains and right next to an unfenced lake, she could see reeds swaying in the breeze. The cool evening mountain wind blew past, but her heart still felt hollow.
She walked a short distance on a road that was muddy and uneven,
