Chapter 819

Mayra spent the entire morning in the library. It wasn't until 5:30 pm as the sky outside began to darken when she packed up her things and prepared to leave. When she stepped out of the elevator and went out through the library doors, she immediately spotted a silver-gray sedan parked by the roadside. Delighted, she ran over, her eyes brimming with joy. "How did you know I was here? I told you I could go back by myself. You're busy, so you don't need to go out of your way to pick me up." Gordon opened his arms, and Mayra leaned in to hug him tightly. "I missed you. I really did," he said. "Then… let's go get something to eat," she said. "I've booked a restaurant," Gordon said. "It's about a half-hour drive to the outer district, and no one will know." Mayra pushed him away and reached up to rub his face. "You had this all planned out, didn't you? Gordon, you're too good at this." The library wasn't far from where Gordon had been, so it didn't take long for him to get here.
