In a secluded, quiet corner, Mayra lay on a lounge chair. She was wrapped in a blanket and holding a youth romance novel.
The distant sound of the school bell rang, and she couldn't seem to concentrate on the words before her. An unfamiliar restlessness stirred within her, but she couldn't tell why.
She had always been the obedient, model student, but a part of her now wondered what it might feel like to skip class. So far, it didn't seem too bad except for the little guilt she felt. As she read, she grew sleepy. Before she knew it, she dozed off with the book resting over her face.
