Chapter 307
Anderson held Mayra's fingers with one hand and lifted her sleeves with the other. Discovering that the gauze had turned red, he furrowed his brow.
"Bring me the first aid kit."
"Yes, sir," Helen replied, fetching the medical kit.
Undoing the gauze on her arm and neck, Anderson realized that they needed to be redressed almost entirely. He quickly tended to her wounds.
"Remember to watch where you're going next time you're outside," he reminded her.
"Okay," Mayra replied, sipping soup from a spoon in her other hand as Anderson redid her bandages while looking at her.
"Can I go back to school tomorrow, Andy?" she asked.
"Didn't you say you didn't want to see anyone?" Anderson raised an eyebrow.
