Mayra suddenly fell silent with her head down.
Anderson waved his hand to dismiss Helen.
Then, he served Mayra a bowl of soup and placed it beside her. "I knew it was you that day."
Hearing this, Mayra gripped the hem of her clothes tightly. She lowered her head even more until she was almost into the bowl.
"I'm sorry," she said, her voice weak and humble.
Anderson reached into the fruit bowl on the table and took an apple before skillfully peeling it. "If you had come into the room that day, I would've been very happy.
"As long as you never go overboard, I'll always forgive you. You're different from everyone else in my heart."
"Are you… feeling better?" Mayra didn't know what to say.
"If you had to choose between me and Gordon one day, who would you choose?"
Anderson was done peeling the apple soon. He cut a small piece, skewered it with the tip of the knife, and handed it to her.
"I'll choose you."
