24. Basement Bonding: A Kidnapper's Tale
Throughout the night, I remained wide-eyed and restless, my anxiety mounting with every passing hour. Jacob was unconscious, that was for sure, but would he wake up soon? My grip on the basement door lock was practically glued in place, and there was no way he could slip away.
One thing I had yet to figure out was how to feed and hydrate him without losing a limb or gaining a set of fangs. A conundrum, for sure. The basement had a tiny bathroom, so I guessed he could manage his business there and drink from the tap. I couldn't help but wonder how long he'd be content with these arrangements.
