Brendan's heart skipped a beat, and he anxiously asked, "Why do you look so pale?"
Deirdre touched her face and shook her head. "I don't know. Maybe it's because I slept too long without eating."
Furrowing his brow, Brendan handed her a spoon. "Have a little bit, just to fill your stomach."
Deirdre nodded and began eating the porridge.
Outside, the wind grew stronger, causing everything in the courtyard to rustle.
Deirdre turned her head and glanced outside, her eyes weary as they drooped. "How long will this storm last?"
"I don't know, but at most three days," Brendan replied, closing the curtains to avoid the unsettling sight of the howling wind.
"If you feel too confined in the room, I can take you to the entertainment facilities on the third floor of the central hall. There are various activities there," he suggested.
Weakly, Deirdre shook her head. "Forget it. I just want to sleep."
