Chapter 138: True to Form, Ancarrot

After the live broadcast, the matter was far from over because Ancarrot was determined to get to the bottom of it. An hour later, the Chief of Police of Lysia State received a call from Mr. Ancarrot. On the phone, Ancarrot first berated the Chief for his incompetence, allowing so many innocent people to be threatened by this drug and causing numerous deaths. He even suggested the Chief resign and go back to operating an excavator. The Chief had previously worked as an excavator operator, and when he was elected as the police chief, Ancarrot had given him an excavator model as a gift. The Chief, bewildered by the call, immediately ordered his subordinates to investigate the origin of the drug candies. What they discovered was shocking: the drug had been circulating in his jurisdiction for nearly a year, initially in secret but now sold openly. "Yes, yes, Mr. Ancarrot, don’t worry. I’ll handle this immediately," the Chief said, sweating. "Rest assured, I will give you an explanation."
