Shannon stopped the discussion there to leave him some dignity. She wanted him to be self-aware of his actions. Just like the situation with Pamela, Nelson knew Sabrina was deeply disappointed in him. Yet he preferred to see it for himself if she was truly disappointed rather than do something to make it right. Even though Pamela threatened him with "that person", it wasn't like he was out of options. He had simply grown accustomed to Sabrina's devotion to him and didn't want to put in the effort for her. In fact, it wasn't that she wasn't worthy of his efforts. On the contrary, she was wonderful in every way. However, he just didn't want to put in any effort.
