Chapter 16
"Brina!" Shannon yelled in shock, knowing that Sabrina had nothing to do with the spiked drink.
With a smile, Sabrina comforted her, "You shouldn't get worked up for your health. Why don't you head back into your room with Jackson? Leave this to Nelson and me, okay?"
Finally, Sabrina and Nelson were the only ones left in the living room. He regressed to staring at her with the familiar look of distaste and indifference.
"On one hand, you callously suggested a divorce and enforced boundaries. Then, when I lowered my guard, you made someone spike my drink. You're a cunning bitch," He sneered at her.
Never in his life had he fallen victim to a woman's tricks. He had to give it to her.
Sitting on the couch, she looked up at him but refused to speak up for herself. She had given up on trying ever since he treated her with increased aggression after she begged him to stop on that night.
They could never be husband and wife—not even siblings.
