The boy kept his eyes tightly shut, and his body trembled uncontrollably as though bracing for the pain and death that never came. He only opened his eyes when Hudson gently knelt beside him and patted his shoulder. "Are you okay?" Hudson asked. At the sight of him, the boy felt like he had just met a savior. He lunged forward, wrapped his arms around Hudson, and burst out sobbing. "This isn't like anything the instructors taught!" "Your snot! Come on, seriously?" Hudson pried the boy off him and turned to Winona, saying, "There's a storage room nearby. Let's take him there and examine his wounds." Then, he hoisted the boy up, who let out exaggerated cries of pain with every step as though they were torturing him alive. Hudson's patience wore thin as they went. He couldn't believe a grown man, a so-called Awakened who passed the test, was acting this pathetically. He quickly looked at the boy's injuries and noted they were superficial wounds. However, it needed to be disinfecte
