I sent a quick message to Kenny, giving him a brief update about my condition. If this flu really has its claws in me, it looks like I'll need to postpone meeting Lila for a few days.
As soon as Kenny heard, he freaked out, insisting on coming over to see me. He even suggested I just get admitted to a hospital to be safe.
I replied, "Don't worry. I've gone to stay with my cousin for now. I'll be fine."

"He's my uncle's son," I wrote back. "I'll explain everything later—gotta go for now."
Satisfied, he stopped pressing me. By the time I climbed into the car with Clover, still wearing my mask and feeling lightheaded, my fever was hitting hard again. We made our way back to Cole's estate.
